Just Kickin' It in CO

We spent last week in Colorado Springs visiting Luke and Holly (who were in town from Scotland!), celebrating Grandpa Bruce's birthday, and just generally being spoiled by the grandparents.


Here's a picture of Caelan with Grandma Sherri and a stuffed lion that Grandma got for Caelan from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo gift shop. Caelan had yet to adopt a stuffed animal as her "lovey," but she has wanted the lion with her ever since she spotted it in the gift shop.


While at the zoo, we also had some close encounters with the wildlife. We petted some kangaroos and fed some giraffes. Well . . . we fed the giraffes whatever crackers Caelan didn't eat first.


Quite possibly, the highlight of the week for Caelan was a trip to Grandpa's shop. Grandpa even fired up the backhoe and took Caelan for a spin around the yard. The engine rumbled loudly, but Caelan's shrieks of delight could still be herd over the roar.

The week's activities also included a visit to Aunt Sissy's beautifully decorated fifth grade classroom and time with extended family. We saw both great-grandpa's and several great aunts and uncles. Calean loved them all and was saddened to give up the spoiled life and return to Waco with just Mom and Dad. Here's a picture of Caelan reading the Reader's Digest for Great-Grandpa Isham.
